SCIENCE
FAIR PRESENTERS NEED TO KEEP THE AISLES CLEAR:
Science
fair presenters will be standing BEHIND their projects, NOT in front of
their projects.(This keeps
the aisles clear for our science fair visitors!)
If you
are planning to use a science fair display board, please be sure to
lower the height of your science fair board OR create a LARGE
open space
in the middle section of the display board
so that you can easily stand behind it!!(Please
refer to the pictures above and below for display ideas!)
Chairs,
step-stools, and ladders are not permitted in the science fair. (They
are a fire & safety hazard!)
Due to very limited
space, ALL projects must be displayed on the tables.
Plan on approximately 3 feet of table space. The dimensions of the
science fair tables are listed on the bottom of this page.
Due to the large
number of projects presented, wall space or floor space will NOT
be allowed to display any parts of projects.
HOW LARGE A SPACE??
If you're planning on creating a space in the middle of
your display board, PLEASE make that the space is as LARGE as possible!!
Otherwise, you will not be very comfortable standing behind your project for
the entire science fair.
My recommendation for creating a space in the middle is to
follow the dimensions using the picture below:
HOW ABOUT LOWERING THE DISPLAY BOARD??
If you're planning on LOWERING the height your display board, PLEASE make that the
middle part of the board is space is low enough!! I would not make the
middle section any higher than 10 inches. Otherwise, you will not be very comfortable standing behind your project for
the entire science fair, especially if you have parts of your project that you
need to reach that are displayed on the table!
My recommendation for lowering the display board is to
follow the dimensions using the picture below:
HERE'S A THIRD IDEA:
If you're planning on LOWERING the height your display board,
you could also simply turn the display board on its side and use one of the
side flaps as the back display area.
I would recommend removing the other side flap and use
parts of that cardboard to fashion two triangles to be taped on to the back
display area. Creating a cardboard frame, as pictured below, supports
the back flap so that it stands up straight.
HERE
ARE SOME OTHER PIECES OF INFORMATION:
Science
fair participants will be presenting their projects using the tables that
are in the all-purpose room.
These
are the same tables that students normally use during lunchtime.
These
tables are 28 1/2 inches high and are 26 inches deep (see picture below):
